Introduction
The AI Translation Tool is designed to simplify providing multi-language support on the platform. This AI-powered tool generates accurate translations and automatically formats the content to ensure compatibility with the platform's multi-language support, saving time and resources while maintaining high-quality translations.
The AI Translation Tool can be used to translate various platform elements, such as:
- Organisation name
- Learning experience title, description, completed message
- Level group name
- Level name, description
- Object - Name, description, discussion point
- Gate question and text
- Badge name and description
- Playlist name and description
- Custom field set name and description
- Custom field - name and description
- CPD requirements name and description
- Email template name, subject, and content

Prerequisites
To use the AI Translation Tool, the following conditions must be met:
- The Translations service must be enabled on the platform (Org Admin)
- The Multi-lang setting must be enabled in the Translations service by the Learning Pool Support team
- The AI Translation Tool setting must be enabled in the Translations service by the Learning Pool Support team
- The logged-in Admin must have the correct permission to use the Translation Tool (Org Admin, Learning Experience Creator, Learning Experience Admin, Group Workspace Admin)
How to Use the AI Translation Tool
Click on the AI Translation Tool icon to open the sidebar.
Select the input/source language from the dropdown menu.
Enter the text you want to translate in the input field.
Select the target language(s) for translation from the dropdown menu.

- To remove an individual language, click the "x" next to the language.
- To remove all languages, click the "x" in the dropdown
Click the "Translate" button to generate the translations and formatted output.
Review the translated text in the output field. If needed, you can edit the translations in the translated text fields, and the formatted output will update automatically.

- Use the "Revert" button to revert to the original translation.
Click the "Copy" button in the output field to copy the formatted output text, then paste it into the desired text field in the platform.
To clear the form of all input and output text, click the "Clear" button.

- To remove a translation remove the language, the output text will be automatically updated.
- If a previously translated language is added back in there is no need to click translate again, it will be automatically translated and the output text will update.
Note: The sidebar will retain its state when closed while you remain on the page, keeping all fields intact until manually cleared. Navigating to a different admin page will clear the input text and translations but it will retain the previously selected output languages for ease as use.

Q. How do I get the feature?
A. Raise a request with the Support Team to enable the feature.
Q. Can I opt-in/opt-out?
A. Yes, to opt-in by making a request to the Support Team and opt-out by leaving the setting off.
Q. Is this chargeable for existing customers?
A. No, this will be available for all customers on the Learning Platform

Q. What languages are supported for input text?

Q. How many languages can I translate my input text into simultaneously?
A. Every language that is supported can be added to the tool simultaneously.
Q. Can I translate multiple paragraphs or only single sentences?
A. The input text does accept paragraphs such as a Learning Experience description.
Q. Is there a character limit for the input text?
A. No, the input field is a TEXT field to support multi-language.
Q. How accurate are the translations?
A. DeepL claims to have “The world's most accurate and nuanced machine translation. DeepL is over 3x more accurate than our closest competitors”
Q. Can I edit the translated text before copying the formatted output?
A. Yes, the translation can be edited in the translated field and the text in the output field will be updated.
Q. What formatting options are available for the output text?
A. There is no need to edit the output field as the tool will format the input text and translated text in the correct format for multi-lang.
Q. Is the translation process secure? Will my data be kept private?
A. We capture the selected text and send it securely via API to the DeepL translation service. We then receive the translated text back and display it to the user. Customer data including any content or user prompts, is not used to train or fine-tune any Learning Pool or third-party AI models. Learning Pool's agreements with our third-party providers stipulate this.
The AI will process the text it is given, which could include personal information if it exists in the source text (e.g., a name in a user-generated comment). However, this data is only used for the specific, user-initiated task (like translation or search), is processed transiently, and is protected by the same robust security measures as all other platform data.

Q. Can I save my translations for future reference?
A. To save translations copy and paste them into a document.
Q. Is there a way to contribute to improving the translations if I spot an error?
A. No, not at this time.
Q. Can I translate files, such as Word documents or PDFs, or only plain text?
A. No, only plain text.
Q. Are there any limitations or additional costs for high-volume translations?
A. No, however, the service will be monitored and high volumes may be investigated as the tool is only for use for in-platform translations.

A. No, not at this time.
