Overview
The Skill-Based Learning Experience Discovery feature allows learners to search and filter Learning Experiences based on specific skills. This enables targeted skill development and supports self-directed learning journeys.
Prerequisites
For this feature to be available and functional:
- Skills Builder service must be enabled by Learning Pool
- The Discover Page must be enabled in the Advanced UI section of the UI/UX service
- Learning Experiences must have skills associated with them (either automatically or manually)
How It Works
To use the Skill-Based Discovery feature:
- Navigate to the 'Discover' page on your Learning Platform
- Click the 'Filters' button
- Select the filter labeled 'Skills'
- Start typing the name of a skill you want to find
- Select at least one skill from the results dropdown
- Click 'Apply Filters'
Results:
- If there are Learning Experiences with matching skills, they will be displayed on the dashboard
- If no Learning Experiences match the selected skills, you'll see a message indicating no results were found
Why This Feature Is Important
This feature empowers learners to:
- Focus their learning on specific skills they want to improve
- Easily find relevant Learning Experiences aligned with their development goals
- Take control of their learning journey by discovering content based on their skill interests

Q: How many skills can I filter by at once?
A: You can select multiple skills to filter by. There's no set limit.
Q: What if I can't find the skill I'm looking for?
A: If you can't find a specific skill, it may not be available in the system or may be named differently. Try using similar terms or broader skill categories.
Q: Why am I not seeing any results for my skill filter?
A: There might be no Learning Experiences associated with the selected skills, or no such skills in your language. Try broadening your search or checking with your Administrator.
Q: Can I save my skill filters for future use?
A: Currently, filters are not saved between sessions. You'll need to reapply your preferred filters each time you use the Discover page.
