Overview
We have created a new permission that allows Administrators to revert to their own admin account after impersonating another user's account without the need to re-enter a username and password each time.
What is the Value
It can be quite tedious and time-consuming to manually log in with administrator details each time you’ve impersonated a learner account. We wanted to change this process and save administrators precious time. With this new permission, you will no longer need to log out of the LMS completely and re-log in with your username and password, instead you can simply use the 'Revert Login' option to jump straight back to your own admin account.
How it works
By default, this new permission will be enabled for Site Managers, but it can also be enabled on other roles. Please contact our Support team, who can assist you with enabling the permission on other roles.
-
Navigate to the 'Browse list of users' page
-
Click on a learner’s account → Click ‘Login as'
-
Once logged in, click on the profile icon at the top of the page
-
Here you will now see the new 'Revert Login' option
- Click this option to logout as the learner and revert to your own admin account
Logs
When an admin reverts their login, it will be stamped in the site logs report as shown here.
