This workflow item will trigger the following workflow item at either:
- A specific date and time.
- The next occurrence of a specified day of the week / month / year.
Configuring the item
The first option to select is the Type. This will decide whether your workflow item waits until a specific date (e.g. 5th of February 2075) or a the next occurrence of a day (e.g. the first Monday of the month).
Type: Date/time
Date/time - Add a date and time that you would like the workflow to wait until - alternatively, you can click on the calendar icon and select a date and time from the calendar.
Time zone - This will always default to the time zone settings that have been applied to your organisation.
Type: Period
Day - Choose which day of the week to wait until.
Time - The time (on the day selected) at which the workflow should continue.
Time zone - This will always default to the time zone settings that have been applied to your organisation.
Period - This, along with Length, dictates how long the item will wait. The period is the unit of time for the length. For example:
This item will wait for 5 months and on the first Wednesday after that period, it will will continue the workflow.
Note: If the specified date has already passed at that point that the learner is been enrolled on the workflow, the workflow will simply skip the wait until item.
Be aware: If the workflow does skip the wait until item, as mentioned in the above note, it will still send any emails contained in the workflow. This could potentially result in a learner receiving several emails at once.
