Alert: This guide refers to the old dashboard. We recommend that you use the Modern UI, which features many enhancements to the dashboard, the tiles, search results, and more. Click here to read about the Modern UI.
Prerequisites: You will need Org Admin access to make these changes.
Summary: Add a banner in settings and switch streams on and off in the UI/UX service.
The dashboard is the home page of your LXP. It's the first thing learners will see after logging in and it's the place they'll use to find and manage their learning content. You can change the way parts of it look and behave.
Slider style
You can switch between the old slider style and the new slider style. The new style has a VIEW ALL button which clearly indicates how many more learning experiences are available in a stream. We believe this is a better user experience so we encourage everyone to use the new slider style.
Old style:
New style:
You can swap between the two by going to Settings > Services > UI / UX, clicking the Enable new Dashboard Slider UI checkbox, and pressing SAVE.
Each component of the new slider achieves AA or AAA WCAG accessibility standards.
Dashboard banner
Your dashboard banner sits at the top of your dashboard.
To change your banner, go to Admin, Settings, then open Image settings and upload a new image under Org Banner Image. The recommended dimensions are 1920px x 200px.
Welcome message
You may notice that there is an "I" icon that appears on your dashboard banner.
When clicked, it reveals a welcome message.
You can add a welcome message by going to Admin, Settings, and adding it to the Welcome Message section.
Note: The welcome message does not support embedding content or CSS. This will automatically be stripped out if you try to add it.
Adding and removing streams
Streams are what we call the different sections of content on your dashboard, such as My Plan, New, and Recently Viewed. They can all be hidden or shown depending on what you want your learners to see.
To show or hide these streams, go to Admin > Settings > Services > UI/UX and use the various tick boxes. Make sure to Save your changes when you're done.
The Discover page
The Discover page is accessed by pressing the compass icon in the menu bar at the top of the dashboard:
It displays every available learning experience and can be filtered and sorted:
You can toggle this on/off in the Admin > Settings > Services > UI/UX by using the Discover Page tick box. Make sure to Save your changes when you're done.
You can add a banner to the top of the Discover page. It will automatically be cast in shadow with the word "Discovery" printed over the top like this:
You add the image by going to Settings > Edit Organisation > Image Settings and uploading an image under Discover banner image.
The discover page can be sorted by "promoted" by using the Filters button:

Grouping playlists
If there are multiple playlists, you can set them to group. When this is enabled they appear as portrait tiles on the dashboard:
To find the settings, go to Admin > Settings > Services > UI/UX.
Enable grouping of Playlist streams: Tick this to activate the tile view shown above.
Group Playlist streams when number is greater than: Use this to specify how many playlists must be on a learner's dashboard for them to begin displaying as tiles.
