Access the settings section of the learning experience menu by clicking on Settings.
On the left side, you can see the simple settings (Learning Experience Type, Name, Short Description) that were set when the learning experience was first created. On the right, there is a series of nested sections that you can expand by clicking on them:
- Display Options: Settings related to the availability of the learning experience to learners.
- Attempts Options: Set an expiry date for recurring training.
- Image Options: View or change the images used by the learning experience.
- Email Options: Email settings related to scheduled emails (if enabled).
- Levels: Controls how levels are displayed within the LX (if available based on the learning experience Type).
- Objects: Controls the default appearance and XP rewards for the objects within the learning experience.
- Certificate: Upload a PDF certificate that learners can download upon completing the learning experience.

Completion Options: Enter a completion message to be displayed to the learner upon completing the learning experience.
Display Options
| Alias: A unique ID that the platform uses to reference the course. E.g. in the URL. |

| External ref: Used for data-in connections and completion record imports. If you do not use this, the External Ref field can be ignored. | |
| Tags: Tags added in settings will appear in the learning experiences section of the admin menu and can be used to filter learning experiences. They can also be used to automatically assign learning experiences to certain groups. Click here to read more about linking groups to learning experiences. | |
| Start Date: Set a specific date for the learning experience to be available. This image shows what learners will see if they try to access a learning experience that has a start date in the future. | |
| Close Date: If learners try to enrol in a learning experience after the close date, they will see a screen like this. If they're already enrolled before the close date, their enrolment record will remain but they will no longer be able to access it once the date has passed. Leave this field blank to keep the learning experience open indefinitely. | |
| Type: select the game type of the learning experience. Game types are explained in the types guide. Unless you're using the Undertake an Online Course learning experience type, you'll want to pick Quick Launch. | |

Visibility: If Public, all learners can see the learning experience. If Secret, only learners who are enrolled on the learning experience or have access via linked groups will see it.

Duration: The duration entered here will appear on the bottom right side of the learning experience tile. |

|
CPD/CPE: Note: This field is not available by default. Please contact your Learning Pool contact to request/discuss activation. The field is in terms of "hours", although this can be customized via language string modification. When a value is entered here, a status icon will appear on the learning experience tile, and the value will be displayed on the learning experience tile detail view. |

|
Promoted: If a learning experience is marked as promoted, a "Promoted" ribbon will be added to the learning experience tile on the learner's dashboard. It can also be filtered using the "promoted" filter on the Discover page. Click here to read more about promoted learning experiences on the Discover page. Note: You can change the name of "promoted" content by using translation strings. Just search for "promoted". Click here to read more about translation strings.

Due after (days): Using this option will give the learner a due date based on when they were enrolled. It will be visible on their dashboard. Learners can adjust this date to make it sooner, but cannot make it later. You can also change the due date for individuals and groups of learners in the Enrolments section of the learning experience menu. |

Enrolment Length (days): Set how long a learner has to access the learning experience from the moment of enrolment. |
|
|
Mark as mandatory: If this is ticked, all new enrolments will be marked as mandatory. If you want to mark it as mandatory for existing enrolees, you can do this in the enrolments section. When a learning experience is marked as mandatory, it will appear in the Mandatory Learning stream and will have a badge in the top left of the learning experience tile. |

Completion options: Determines whether the learning experience will complete automatically if a learner can mark it as complete themselves using the “mark as complete” button on the dashboard, or if both options are available. If set to automatic, you will be able to specify whether this is based on xAPI or time elapsed in the Manage content section.

| Allow Self-Enrolment: If checked, learners will be allowed to self-enrol on a course. The top image is the screen learners will see if self-enrolment is not checked and they attempt to access a learning experience they aren't enrolled on. The bottom image shows a learning experience with self-enrolment enabled and learners access the learning experience via a link. When self-enrolment is enabled and the learning experience is launched from the learners' dashboard they get enrolled and have access immediately upon launch. |

Require Manager Approval: If Job Roles and the My Team page are enabled in the platform, enabling this will result in learners who attempt to enroll in the learning experience being prompted to request access from their manager to undertake the learning experience. In turn, managers will see the request in the My Team area and be able to approve or deny the enrollment. Both in-platform and email notifications are sent to managers and learners to keep them appraised of requests and responses respectively. |

Allow enrolment via xAPI completions: If this is enabled, learners can complete content on external platforms that send xAPI statements and be automatically enrolled on this Learning Experience within the platform. Click here to learn more. |

Attempts options
If Expiry Method (1) is set to Use Fixed Date, a learner’s completion of this learning experience will expire on the date specified below (2). If it’s set to Use Attempt Completion Date, a learner’s completion will expire after the amount of time specified below (5). When the learning experience expires, it’ll be marked as expired on the learning experience tile on the dashboard (3). This is useful, for example, for certifications that need to be recertified annually.
If the date set on the learning experience is in the past when a learner completes it, the expiry date will be set to one year in the future.
If you tick Reset enrolments (4) the learner’s enrolment will be completely reset when the learning experience expires, meaning that it will reappear in their assigned stream and their mandatory stream (if set to mandatory).

Email options
These options control the email name and reply address when scheduled emails are sent or when users are invited to the learning experience. You can find out more about sending emails from learning experiences in the learning experience emails guide.
Reply Email: This will appear on emails sent from ‘Scheduled Emails’ and ‘Invite Users’.
Email Name: this will appear on emails sent from ‘Scheduled Emails’.
Levels

Pick your level view: Click on an image to select a level view. The object list view is the default view. It lists the objects inside the level, and displays the object title and description. The node view displays no object information. We don't recommend this is used, it's only included as a legacy option. The playlist displays all the level and the objects they contain on a single page. They're accompanied by completion information. No level banner or tile images are displayed. |

User Name: Set the font size and position of the user name on the certificate.
Completion Date: Enable the completion date and state the font size and position.
