Summary: Add a PDF certificate and line the text up so it prints properly.
When a user completes a learning experience you can award them with a digital certificate which they can download as a PDF.
This is an example of the certificate that we offer on some Academy courses. It has spaces for the learner’s name, the course name, the date, and some learning objectives to be filled in. These details can be added automatically, customising the certificate for each learner.
Designing your certificate
The first step is to design a certificate in whatever publishing software you choose - anything will work as long as the certificate is A4 and a PDF file. Make sure you leave room for learner name, course name, date, and learning objectives. Once that’s done, you can upload your certificate to the LXP.
Adding your certificate to your LX
In your LX, go to Settings and open Certificates.
| Choose file | Click here to upload your certificate PDF. |
| Font size | Set the font size for the relevant field. |
| Top | Specify how many millimetres from the top of the certificate the relevant field should appear. |
| Centred | Tick this box to automatically centre the relevant field on the certificate rather than using the "left" option. |
| Left | Specify how many millimetres from the left side of the certificate the relevant field should appear. |
| Learning Experience Name - Enable | Tick this box to add the name of the LX to the certificate too. |
Note: If you have CPD enabled there will also be an option to add a CPD field to your certificate. This works in exactly the same way as the other fields. Click here to read more about CPD.
What the learner sees
The learner will be able to view their certificate in two ways:
- When they complete the LX, a message will pop up with a link to the certificate.
- Whenever they revisit the LX, they will see a link to view their certificate.
