Prerequisites: Contact Learning Pool Support if you need a language pack to be added to your LMS (support@learningpool.com).
Summary: The LMS is compatible with various language packs (listed below). The letters after each language are the language code that you will need to use the translation features mentioned later in this guide.

Language customisation
If you want to edit the translations used in your language pack, you can do so by adjusting some language strings. This will change the translations used in the menus etc built into the LMS. If you want to translate text you’ve added (such as course titles) see Custom translation - user input later on in this guide.
Use the admin block to navigate to localisation > language customisation
Select the language you want to edit and press open language pack for editing.
Use Filter Strings to filter the various language strings down to ones you’re looking for. E.g. if you’re looking to change something related to On the Job Training, find otj.php
Below, locate the string you want to change and enter your new message in the box to the right of it.
When you’re done, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save changes to the language pack. Below, locate the string you want to change and enter your new message in the box to the right of it.
Custom translation (user input)
You can use mlang strings to translate text you’ve added (such as course titles) to the LMS. This means that when you swap between different language packs in the LMS, your course titles and other elements that you’ve added mlang strings to will automatically switch language too.
This feature will need to enabled by Learning Pool’s support team before it can be used.
Open the configuration page for the element you would like to translate.
Locate the text entry.
First, add this to the text: {mlang en} but substitute en for the language code of your choice. E.g. de for german: {mlang de}.
Follow this with your translated text: {mlang en} My course name.
Add {mlang} after your text so that it becomes: {mlang en} My course name {mlang}.
Save your work and test out your translation by switching language packs.
You can add as many languages as you like. We recommend editing the translation in a separate document and then pasting it into the LMS, as text entry fields can be a little too small to properly display your text as you’re editing it.
