What This Workflow Does
This feature allows Campaign Managers to automatically award digital badges on Credly, the world's largest digital credential network.
When a learner completes a specific set of actions or meets defined criteria in your Learning Experience Platform, the workflow will trigger and issue the corresponding Credly badge.
Benefits and Use Cases
| Benefit | Description |
|---|---|
| Verified Skill Recognition | Credly badges act as verifiable proof of a learner's upskilling and mastery of a specific skill or knowledge area. |
| Professional Achievement | Learners can easily share these verified digital credentials on professional networks (like LinkedIn), showcasing their accomplishments and skills to potential employers or managers. |
| Talent and Role Matching | Example Use Case: Use a learner's verified badge to inform talent decisions. For instance, if a front-desk employee earns a Credly badge for "Data Analytics Essentials," your organization can easily identify them as a candidate for an internal role on the technology team. |
| Business Performance | By promoting and recognizing employee upskilling with verifiable credentials, your organization supports its talent development goals and drives overall business improvement. |
| Badge ID: This identifies which Credly badge you want to award to the learner. You'll need to copy this from your Credly account. |
When you log into your Credly account, select the badge you want to award and copy the Template ID. Then paste this into the Badge ID field in Automation. |
| First Name: This is the first name of the learner receiving the badge. This will likely be the first name of the learner who triggered the workflow, although it doesn't have to be. |
Setting the learner's first name using a global variable. |
| Last Name: This is the last name of the learner receiving the badge. This will likely be the last name of the learner who triggered the workflow, although it doesn't have to be. |
Setting the learner's last name using a global variable. |
| Email: Credly will use this address to send an email to the receiver of the badge. |

Additional options:
- Expiry date: Use the date picker to set a date on which the badge will expire.
- Stop email: Flicking this switch on will prevent Credly sending any emails to the learner. This may be useful if you intend to send your own badge-related email from Automation instead. |
