Visualisations are used to graphically display your data, making it easier to observe differences, similarities and trends. Using the query builder (click here to read more) you can tailor your visualisations to track many different metrics ranging from very broad to very specific.
Creating a visualisation
Click Visualise in the sidebar.
Click + ADD NEW in the top right.
You can create visualisations from scratch or you can use a template. To create a visualisation from scratch, pick one of the items in the Custom list:
| Bar - A classic bar chart that shows multiple data points in the form of bars against an x and y axid. | |
| Correlation - A scatter graph used to plot data points across x and y axes to see if there's any trend or correlation between the two. | |
| Column - Like a bar that's fallen on its side. | |
| Line - An instantly recognisable business classic. A line visualisation creates a line graph which clearly shows how your selected metric has changed over time. | |
| Counter - Does what is says on the tin. It's like the website visitor counters of old. It shows a number but that's not all, it can also show a trend to indicate how that number has changed. | |
| Pie - Create beautiful pies as a visual representation of the relative sizes of your data points. | |
| Journeys - Journeys are a feature of Learning Record Store that can be turned into a visualisation to show how learners are progressing along a series of tasks and actions that you define. |
If you select a custom visualisation you'll need to configure it. Configuration options for each visualisation type can be found beneath this article.
Templates
If you select a template your visualisation will be automatically created. Templates in the Common section will use any and all data in your Learning Record Store. Templates in other sections are designed to be used with other parts of the Learning Pool suite. Their titles explain what they do.
