To add a new dashboard, go to Data > Dashboards:
Click + Add Dashboard in the top right:
You will be presented with some options. You can either select Blank Dashboard or choose from a selection of dashboard templates. The blank dashboard will give you an entirely blank canvas to add your visualisations to. The templates will build a dashboard and a collection of pre-built visualisations that Learning Pool have designed based on common use cases. Both the blank dashboard and the templated dashboards are entirely editable.
Here's what a blank dashboard looks like. Pretty blank:
To start adding your visualisations, click + Add widget in the top right:
Select the visualisation you want to add from the dropdown menu and it will appear on your dashboard:
The widget will automatically inherit the title of the visualisation, but this can be changed by editing your widget.
Editing widgets
To move your widget, move your cursor to the top of the widget so that it becomes a , then hold down the left mouse button and drag the widget:
To resize and reshape your widget, move your cursor to the bottom right of the widget so that it becomes a , then hold down the left mouse button and drag the widget:
Click the menu icon the top left of a widget to access additional options:
| Enable table view | This puts your visualisation into table view. This will edit your visualisation everywhere, so if it is also being used in another dashboard it will switch to table view there too. |
| Go to visualisation | Takes you to the visualisation in the visualisations menu. |
| Recalculate widget | Forces the visualisation to reprocess, so any new data is displayed. |
| Edit Widget | Gives the option to change the title of the widget and to change which visualisation it's displaying. |
| Delete | Deletes the widget, but not the visualisation. |
