Learning Pool LRS is a dedicated, right-sized instance of the world’s most installed Learning Record Store. And it’s backed by a Hypercare implementation phase to ensure organizations are equipped to get up and running quickly. With Learning Pool LRS, intelligent data can become a core capability of any learning program.
Capabilities
Dashboards
Dashboards are the primary way of viewing Visualisations of data. They group, organize, and display Visualisations. Each Visualization is contained within a Widget, which can be organized and resized.
Dashboards can also be filtered and shared, allowing for them to be embedded in other sites, or just conveniently share certain dashboards with others without them needing to log in or otherwise have access to the LRS.
Visualisations
Visualizations are a graphical display of data contained on the LRS. Each visualization displays from one to five metrics in a format such as bar, chart, line, etc.
Using the Query Builder the Visualisations can be configured to track many different metrics ranging from very broad to very specific. Additionally, up to five different queries can be added to the same Visualization to be plotted together, making Visualisations a powerful way to track and compare how data changes over time.
We provide templates for organizations to quickly get up to speed on using Visualisations.
Query Builder
The Query Builder is a powerful tool implemented throughout the LRS. It's used to filter xAPI statements, providing the ability to include, exclude, and define ranges. A key part of its functionality is to allow for filtering by Stores and Persona attributes so that only appropriate data is returned.
As the LRS receives statements it automatically adds fields to the Query Builder, simplifying the administrator's task of construction queries. If a field does not currently exist in the LRS it can still be manually included in the Query Builder.
Journeys
Journeys allow for the tracking of learner progress through a series of tasks. The administrator defines a number of waypoints and their criteria using the query builder.
When statements are received into the LRS they are checked against waypoints and completion is marked.
Stores
Stores of data, providing logical separation between your different data sources. This facilitates efficient querying and management of your data.
Statement Forwarding
Statement Forwarding provides the ability to automate the connection to other external platforms based on rules, enabling the triggering of new actions or completions in platforms that would otherwise be unaware of activity elsewhere. In essence, this allows for functionality similar to integration between the systems.
Hypercare
An implementation phase, with a Learning Pool Solutions Engineer before and after going “live”.
It includes:
- Welcome, Discovery & Success: We’ll find out the technology and personnel involved in the project and will define success.
- xAPI & LRS Introduction: A series of brief training sessions introducing the xAPI and LRS
- Solution design Workshop: A series of tailored workshop to define the requirements for the platform and refine the target architecture
- Check-ins and project closure: Regular sessions to monitor progress, answer technical questions, and ensure the project reaches successful completion.
xAPI Support
Learning Pool LRS brings data from across the learning ecosystem together in a single place by adhering to the xAPI standard, which is often expressed as “Actor > Verb > Object”, or, “who does what when”.
