Version Control
Make sure your learners have the most up to date content at all times. With version control you can upload the latest version of content to replace the existing version.
- On the Content Manage page, locate the content you want to update and click Details from the ellipsis in the Action column.
- In the sidebar select the Versions tab then click Upload new version button.
- Follow the instructions in the upload dialog box and when your new version has been uploaded the Versions tab will now display Version 2.
- You can use the Edit function to add comments about the changes or reasons for uploading the new version.
- To make the new version live click the ellipsis menu beside Version 2 and select Publish.
- As there may be learners in progress on the previous Version 1 the user is given three options for managing their progress.
- Maintain progress on the learner's current version
- Learners with attempts in progress on any previous version(s) will stay on that version. Version1 in this example.
- Maintain progress on this new version
- Learners will now see Version 2 and their progress will be maintained. We would only recommend minor changes like correcting a typo or replacing an image.
- Restart all on this new version
- All learners will start from the beginning of Version 2.
- Maintain progress on the learner's current version
- After the user makes a selection they are returned to the Versions tab where Version 2 is now Live. The launch file on the learning platforms will now open Version 2.
If option 3 is selected ‘Restart all learners on this new version’ they will see this message when they launch the content
If there is a significant change we have added an option to make this visible in the application. When a new version is added and the user selects the edit option they can select a ‘Significant changes' checkbox, see image below
A visual reminder is now displayed with this version highlighting that the content has changed significantly.
