Configuring a course Lock type:
There are a number of different lock types that can be used within the course which have been outlined below:
- Custom: This allows you to specify what page(s) unlocks another page(s). When this option is selected you will need to use the "locked by" option in the individual page settings, where you can add the Page ID that you want the user to complete before accessing a page.
To find and set the ID of the of the page that will control which page is locked/unlock by the completion of another page:
- Click on the cog wheel of the page you wish to find the ID
- Click on "Copy ID to clipboard"
- Click on the cog wheel of the page you wish to lock
- Click on edit settings
- Scroll down to the "locked by" option under the general section
- Paste the ID within the box
- Click on save.
It is possible to add multiple IDs against a single page, which would require each of the pages to be completed before the page is unlocked.
- LockLast: This option will lock the last page on the course, preventing access until all other sections have been completed first
- Sequential: This will lock all pages except the first page, once the first page is complete then page 2 will unlock, completing page 2 will unlock page 3 etc.
- UnlockFirst: This will keep all pages locked except for page 1. Once page 1 is completed all remaining pages are unlocked
