Data Dictionary & Definitions

What is the Data Dictionary?

The data dictionary contains a list of fields and tables that can be used to build dashboards.

Designers can use this data dictionary to determine what fields they want to include when creating their own custom dashboard. 

Please note, the data dictionary only includes fields that are available to all users. If you have had custom fields created, these will not display on the dictionary below. 

Courses

Contains information on all courses (also known as learning experiences) and their contents.

Column	Column Definition
Course ID	The unique identifier of a learning experience. This is the "id" in an xAPI statement. Click here to read more about xAPI statements.
Number of Objects	The number of objects that make up a learning experience.
Activity Verb	What the learner will have to do to complete a course (listen, read, study, etc.) This references the learning experience type in the LXP. Click here to read more about learning experience types.
Activity Type	The type of activities within a course (i.e. podcast, article, etc.)
View XP	The number of points a learner stands to gain from completing an object in a learning experience. Click here to read more about XP in the LXP.
Course Name	The name of the learning experience.

Enrolments

Contains information about what learning experiences each learner is enrolled to and whether they have completed them. 

Column	Column Definition
Completed Enrolments	Whether a learner has completed a learning experience they are enrolled on. 1= completed 0= not completed
Expired Enrolments	Learners enrolled on learning experiences that are overdue for completion. Click here to read more about enrolment expiry.
Objects Completed	The number of objects a learner has completed in a learning experience they are enrolled on.
Number of Objects	The total number of objects that make up a learning experience.
Enrolment Completion Date	The date a learner completed a learning experience they were enrolled on.
Enrolment Expiry Date	The date an enrolment expires at.
enrolment creation date	The date a learner was enrolled on a learning experience.
Launches	The number of times a learner has opened a learning experience.
Days Since Enrolment	The number of days since a learner was initially enrolled on a certain learning experience.
Days Since Completion	The number of days since a learner completed a specific learning experience.
Days Between Enrolment and Completion	The number of days between a learner being enrolled on a learning experience and completing that learning experience.
Enrolment ID	A unique identifier produced when a learner is enrolled on a learning experience.
Points	The total number of XP points a learner received from a learning experience. Click here to read more about XP points.
Levels Completed	The number of levels a learner has completed in a specified learning experience.
User ID	The learner's unique identifier, which is the number that can be found in the address bar when viewing a learner's profile.
Course ID	The unique identifier of a learning experience.

Level_progress

Learning experiences are made up of levels, this table indicated which levels have been completed.

Level Completion Date	The date the learner completed the level.
Level ID	The unique identifier of the level.

Groups

These groups are pulled from the LXP. Click here to read more about groups. 

Group Name	The name of the group.
Group ID	The unique identifier of the group, which is the number found in the address bar when viewing a group. It is also used in the LXP API, click here to read more about the API.

Suggestions

Focuses on learning experiences that are suggested to learners when they complete another learning experience. 

Suggestion ID	The unique identifier of the instance of the suggestion.
Suggestion Creation Date	The date the learning experience was suggested to a learner.

Ratings

Based on ratings that learners have left for learning experiences. 

Rating ID	The unique identifier of the instance of the rating.
Rating	The rating that was given. Thumbs up - 100 Thumbs down - 0
Rating Creation Date	The date the learner gave the rating.

Objects

Learning experiences are made up of objects, this table focuses on the object level.

Object Name	The name of the object.
Object ID	The unique identifier of the object.
Object View Time
Object View XP	The points awarded to the learner for viewing the object.
Object Ordering	The order the object appears in within the learning experience (is it the first, second, third, etc.)

Users

User ID	The unique identifier of the learner.
User Full Name	The learner's full name.
Username	The learner's user name.
SSO ID	The learner's single sign on ID.
Email Address	The learner's email address.
Location	The learner's location.
