The skills page displays all of the learner’s selected and validated skills, providing a comprehensive overview of their abilities.
Understanding skills
This page displays all the skills that the learner has validated. They're grouped into capabilities and can be sorted by clicking on each column heading. Here's what the different columns mean:
| Trend | A line indicating the trajectory of the learner's abilities. |
| Name | The name of the skill. |
| Expertise |
A three star rating system to indicate the learner's current level of expertise.
|
| Proof point | Context for the learner's level of expertise. |
| Confirmed | A skill will only be marked as confirmed if the learner's manager confirms their skill and expertise level. |
| Like | If a learner likes a skill, this will be taken into account when they are being recommended opportunities. |
| Learn | Lets the learner mark the skills that they want to improve on. |
| Share |
If a learner enables the sharing of their skill, it'll appear in their public profile in the knowledge exchange. Click here to read more about knowledge exchange. If they would like to share all their skills, they can tick the Share all my skills checkbox near the top of the screen: |
Adding skills
At the top of the skills page you'll see that there are a couple of different ways for learners to add skills to this list:
The learner can use the search bar to find job titles or individual skills to add to their list. If they select a skill they will be prompted to validate it. If they select a job title, they will first be asked to refine the skills attached:
They refine the skills list by selecting the relevant ones:
They are then prompted to validate their skills by stating their current expertise, selecting the proof they have for this expertise, indicating whether they like the skill, and indicating whether they want to learn more about it:
Adding skills via CV
If learners click the Scan document button at the top of the page, they can upload a CV or resume to be scanned for skills:
When they upload a CV, skills will be extracted from it and the learner will be prompted to refine and validate them.
Removing skills
To remove a skill, a learner just needs to click the corresponding and select Remove skill:
Reporting
Learners can download a spreadsheet of their current skills status. It is generated in the xlsx format. To do this, they click Download current view:
From here they can either click Generate XLS to create a new report, or they can use the Download button alongside any report in the Report history section to access previous reports.
