The capabilities page displays all your existing capabilities. You can edit or delete existing capabilities and add new ones.

Adding a capability
Click + Add capability:

This is the description that will be shown to learners wherever this capability appears for them: |
| Capability Type |
The type of capability dictates where the capability appears for the learner. |
| Department |
Allocating a department means other managers of the allocated department can edit the capability. If you don't add a department, only your department managers can edit the capability.
Note: If this option is greyed out, ask your Learning Pool contact to enable it for you. |
| Custom URL |
The custom url adds a Job link button that is displayed when your capability is shown to learners. Note: You need to include "https://" or "http://" at the beginning of your URL, otherwise it will not work and you will not be able to add the capability. |
| Language |
If you add the language, learners can filter the opportunities page by language: |
| Zipcode |
If you add the zipcode (post code) of a capability, learners can filter the opportunities page by location: |
| Seniority level | Seniority level dictates who this capability is aimed at. The different available levels will have been configured by Learning Pool when you started using skills builder. If you need these to be changed, please talk to your Learning Pool contact. |
| Employment lvl min / max | Employment level indicates the percentage of a person's workload this capability would take up. For example, taking on a new job role may well take up 100% of their workload, whereas a small project may only be 10%. Learners can use this metric to filter capabilities. |
| Contact email | The email address of the person in charge of this capability. This could be the hiring manager, the project manager, etc. |
Editing a capability
You can make changes to an existing capability by clicking on it on the capabilities page and making any changes.
If you want to temporarily hide a capability while you make changes to it, you can use the Published toggle to unpublish / publish it:

Click the icon to view additional options:
From here you can assign it to an entire team or department at once by clicking Bulkassignment, you can add it to your team readiness page, and you can clone or merge the capability.
When you merge a capability you're prompted to specify the name, type, and other details:
Finding best-matching employees
There's a quick and easy way to find the employees who best match the specifications for your project, vacancy, or internal role. Open the relevant capability and click the Show best-matching employee toggle:
You will be shown a list of employees with the appropriate skills and a rating to indicate how closely they meet the requirements. Click on them to see more details and click the to email them.
Additional types of capabilities
There are two additional types of capabilities that you can add to your skills builder: stages and strategic roles. When they're added, they'll appear as additional options on the opportunities page and will appear on the capabilities page. If they aren't currently enabled for you and you would like them to be, please talk to your Learning Pool contact.
