Resources are a collection of artifacts (documents, links, videos, etc) which are made available and searchable directly from within the Knowledge Hub without the need to launch a guide or view an announcement. As an example users can open a SharePoint page or article, view a PowerBI report or dashboard, read a KB article, view a doc or presentation, watch a video without leaving the business app.
Resources can be listed independently in the knowledge hub or as a part of a collection or grouping called a Resource collection. Resource collection allows for better management and visibility of the help content.
Overview
When the user views the Knowledge Hub, the Resources will be listed. Resources can be searched by text or by tag.

Create a Resource
To create Resources, you must have the OnScreen Guidance Author profile. It must be shared on a hosting service such as Google Drive where there is a direct link to the document. A resource can be thought of as a knowledge item that you wish your users to be able to access with ease and without searching through multiple locations to find.
A resource can be of following types -
-
URL: A URL of any website or article that you wish the user to open.
-
Guide: Allows user to step through an OnScreen Guidance Guide that you created.
-
Document: Opens a linked document such as a PDF or MS Word document.
-
Video: Opens and plays back the linked video.
You can select how you want the resource to open for the end user
-
New Tab: The resource opens in a web browser tab.
-
New Window: The resource opens in a new web browser window.
-
OnScreen Pop-up: The resource opens in a popup window.
Like any other OnScreen Guidance help types, you can always control who sees these resources as well as on what pages. This makes the Resources business application process appropriate.
Create a Resource Collection
An OnScreen Guidance resource collection is a group of multiple resources. The collection is visible in the knowledge hub to the users. By default, the collection is expanded on the knowledge hub showing the individual resources contained within it.
The process of adding resources remains the same as above. In a resource collection, as the name suggests, you can add more than one resources. You can add a new resource or import an already existing one.
