Best Practices for Administrators
Provide Clear Titles and Descriptions: Make sure the title and description of learning experiences are clear and informative, so learners know exactly what to expect. This is especially relevant if you have an integration with a third-party content library as the titles and descriptions are usually rich in metadata, which increases their relevance in a learners' search results and will show them towards the top of the list.
Use a Distinct Image: Choose learning experience and object images that are visually appealing and relevant to the content. This helps learners quickly identify the right search result for them and sets the tone for their learning journey.
Leverage Platform Features: Use available platform functionalities like 'promoted' (to highlight key content), duration (to show how long a learning experience will take), and CPD (to indicate if the content is accredited for Continuing Professional Development) to provide comprehensive information for learners that will be shown on the search result cards.
Regularly Update Content: Keep learning experiences up to date, so learners always have access to the most relevant and current materials.
Best Practices for Learners
Use Clear and Specific Search Queries: Be specific when searching for content to get the most relevant results.
Check for Spelling and Typos: Ensure your search terms are free from errors, as typos can lead to missed or incorrect results. Fuzzy matches are included, but better spelling gets better search results.
Utilise Filters: Use available filters to narrow down results and find the most relevant content faster.
Bookmark and Share Search Parameters: If you find a search result you like, bookmark the search or share its parameters for future use, so you don’t need to start from scratch every time.
Review Content Descriptions and Titles Carefully: Always check the content description and title to make sure it matches your needs before selecting it.
Take Advantage of Recommended Content: Explore suggested content or content promoted by your organisation to discover useful learning experiences that you may not have considered.
