The following screenshot shows how an assessment is created and the following information can be populated:
- General Information
- Name
- Alias
- Description
- External Reference
- Randomisation (show questions in a different order per learner attempt)
- Passing Criteria (this is configurable as percentage but will then also indicate the specific number of questions required to pass)
- Attempts (set the number of attempts or retakes allowed)
- Results (show learners' correct answers)
Once created, Org Admins are able to add the assessment to any object within any Learning Experience from the resource library. The Learning Experience Type should be set to ‘Undertake an Online Course’.
This then takes the Org Admin into the Create Assessment screen below:
Question Creation
Once an assessment has been created, the Org Admin can begin adding questions to their assessments. They can either create a new question or by selecting ones previously created, which may have been used in other assessments. In the screenshot below, an assessment called ‘An example assessment’ has been created.
Now, let’s look at adding questions. Org Admins can create a new question by clicking the ‘Create Question’ button or add a previously created question by clicking the ‘Add Questions from Bank’ button. This is where the Question Bank resides.
Admins will see the ability to upload images to accompany their questions. Learners will then see the images next to the question in their assessment.
The following information can be populated:
- Question Overview
- Name
- Alias
- External Reference
- Tags
- ● Type
- Multiple choice with multiple answers
- Multiple choice with single answer
- Binary choice (Yes/No)
- Answer options (choose which options are the correct answers)
- Randomisation (set question options in a different order per sitting)
Alternatively or in addition to an Org Admin to creating questions through the ‘Create Question’ button they can add questions from the Question Bank. They can also reorder the questions as they wish.
Tags
Tagging removes a lot of the hidden friction that comes with managing assessments at scale. Without
tagging, question banks can quickly become disorganised and difficult to navigate—people waste time
scrolling, duplicating content, or even rebuilding questions they can’t find.
On typing, Admins will be able to see partial and exact matches of previously created tags. When adding a question from a question bank the Filter By Tags button can be used to browse tags and show the associated tagtged questions.
