This is a short guide to help you address some common problems you may come across when using content in the LXP.
Help! My screen looks like this:
It looks like you’ve added a URL resource that isn’t connecting properly. This is a common problem, it happens because some websites don’t allow pages to be surfaced in an iFrame due to security concerns.
Solution: In the admin menu, open your LX and go to Manage Content.
Open Display Settings and tick the Ask the user to open this object in an external window/tab checkbox.
Your URL object will now display like this:
Learners will have to click the link in order to open the page.
My content isn’t completing
If your content hasn’t been marked as complete in the LXP, there are a few different things to investigate.
First, make sure that the user has actually completed the content. We know this sounds obvious, but just double check that they have finished every part of the e-learning course they’ve been taking or finished the video they’ve been watching. You could use the login as feature to check this.
Next, go to your learning experience, go to Manage content, and open the Game Settings.
If you’re using xAPI enabled content make sure that the Completion Type is set to xAPI. If it’s not xAPI content (e.g. an article online) make sure it’s set to Timed and that the time is a reasonable amount.
If your xAPI content still isn’t completing, check that you have the right completion verb for your content. If it’s Adapt content here are the settings you’ll need:
- If your completion criteria in Adapt (found in Configuration) is set to Require content completion, you need your completion verb in the LXP to be “completed”
- If your completion criteria is NOT set to Require content completion, but is set to Require assessment completion you need your verb in the LXP to be “passed”
