Prerequisites: To access any of the settings described in this guide, you will need to be an org admin on the LXP. Click here to read more about different roles.
Summary: Organisation Admins can customise the post-login journey for users by redirecting them to a designated URL, ensuring a streamlined user journey that aligns with the organization's goals.
By default, when a user signs into an instance of the LXP they are taken to the Dashboard page for the site (/dashboard). For many organizations, that meets their needs perfectly! That said, Organisation Admins have the ability to set a different landing page users will see after logging in, allowing one to tailor the experience and journey for users right from the start.
Note: This does not supersede the 'Complete your profile' or 'Onboarding' functions. If either of those are enabled, learners must complete them before being redirected to the configured landing page.
For instance, if you want to offer learners a more self-directed journey, you can send them to the Discover page (/dashboard/discover) upon logging into the LXP.
This new landing page will be considered the "home" page for the LXP, and as such, users will be able to click the logo in the top of the navigation bar to return to the designated landing page at any time.
To customize the landing page for the LXP, as the Organisational Admin, use the following steps:
- Using the User menu in the upper left corner of the page, select Admin to access the administration area of the LXP.
- Select the Settings (gear) menu item to access the settings section of pages.
- Select the Services page from the navigation menu along the left side of the page.
- Select the UI/UX services panel to enter its configuration page.
- Locate the Landing Page URL field and update it accordingly.
Note: The URL entered into Landing Page URL must be a fully qualified URL. Be sure to begin the entry with "https//".
Warning: If this function is used to open a URL outside of the LXP, be aware that one may require a deeper URL to get back to the LXP. That is because any navigation to the main LXP URL will result in being re-forwarded to the Landing Page URL. Be very careful in using this function with non-LXP URLs.
