Once CPD has been enabled for your organisation, the ability to create CPD requirements will be available. This can be done from the CPD Requirements menu item that displays on the Settings tab.
Navigate to the Settings icon in the admin area and click on CPD Requirements.
A table will display with the following information:
-
- Name: Displays the name of the created requirements.
- Start Date: Displays the start date of the created requirements.
- End Date: Displays the end date of the created requirements.
- CPD Total: Displays the total CPD required to complete the requirement.
- A custom translation has been included for this column so the language can be updated accordingly.
- Group Count: Displays the number of groups assigned to the requirement.
- Participant Count: Displays the number of individuals assigned to the requirement.
- Actions: Displays options to manage the requirement.
- Assign groups: Clicking this will open a sidebar where groups can be assigned.
- Edit: Clicking this will open a sidebar where you can edit the requirement.
- Delete: Clicking this will delete the requirement. You will be asked to confirm the deletion.
To create a new requirement, click the Add CPD Requirement button. A sidebar will open with several fields.
A Name must be added to create the requirement. A Description for the requirement can also be added, but this is not a required field.
The Start Date and End Date are required fields and can be entered manually or by clicking the calendar icon and selecting the correct dates.
Note: The start date can be set in the past and the end date cannot be before the start date.
Assignees start with zero CPD hours uses the date the user was assigned to the requirement instead of the requirement start date
Enabling this ensures any newly assigned learners will start with zero progress towards that requirement.
Once the dates have been added, select the relevant requirement Types.
- General: Use this type if the requirement is open and has no required structured or unstructured components.
- Structured: Use this type for any formal, accredited learning requirements.
- Unstructured: Use this type for any informal learning requirements.
Note: A language string has been included for the CPD types so a custom translations can be added via the ‘Translations’ service.
You can click the drop-down arrow to see all options or you can type the name of the desired type. This is flexible so the requirement can be made up of one or more types, allowing you to mix and match to create the requirements you need.
Once the relevant types have been added, enter the required values for each one.
The value can be typed in manually or adjusted by using the up and down arrows to the right of the field. The value goes up in quarterly increments and cannot be less than ‘0’. The total amount of CPD is listed at the bottom so you can keep track of the overall total.
Once all required details have been added, click Save. A success screen will display when it has been created.
Note: If your language is set to British / UK English, this feature will display as "CPD" (continuing professional development). If you're using American / US English, this feature will display as "CPE" (continuing professional education).
