Learners taking their online Learning can from time to time become stuck and unsure of what to do.
When taking E-learning modules on the platform, learners should: ensure a stable internet connection, familiarize themselves with the module's navigation, carefully read instructions, take note of progress tracking, and report any technical issues to the instructor if they encounter problems with loading or functionality; always check if the module has a completion requirement and aim to finish all necessary sections to receive a completion.
Key points for learners:
Check your internet connection:
A stable connection is crucial for smooth E-learning module playback, as any disruptions can lead to lost progress.
Accessing the E-learning Module:
Ensure you navigate directly through your platform, to the course page, and launch the module from that area. Do not attempt to access the module from a shared link, and try to avoid using back and forward buttons on your browser when attempting to complete a module. This could result in data loss or completion tracking not being saved from your attempt.
Read the instructions carefully:
Before starting, take time to understand the module's objectives, navigation structure, and any specific requirements for completion if applicable.
Check for quizzes or assessments:
Some SCORM / E-learning modules include quizzes to test your understanding, make sure to complete them as required.
Navigate the module:
Learn how to move through the content, use interactive elements (like buttons, sliders, and menus), and understand the layout, ensuring you are selecting all the applicable sections/components. Please avoid rapidly clicking through the module without thoroughly reviewing the content.
Do not close the Platform in the background:
Ensure you do not exit/close the platform when the E-learning has been launched or navigate away from the module unless directed to do so. Below is an example of how the E-Learning module would typically look in a browser when launched:
Monitor progress:
Most E-learning modules track your progress automatically, so pay attention to completion markers and check if your activities are being recorded, from any available menus.
Utilize the pause/resume feature:
If you need to take a break, use the pause function, if one is available within the module to save your progress, close the module correctly and come back later.
Report issues:
If you encounter technical problems like loading errors, broken links, or missing content, contact your internal team to report this.
Review completion requirements:
Understand what actions are needed to mark a module as "completed" - this might involve viewing specific content, answering questions correctly, or reaching a certain score and ensure you have met these criteria.
Exit the module correctly:
Once you have confirmed the module has been fully completed, by checking any menus or sections (if available) ensure you use any exit button directly in the module, if available or if not, that you close the tab / window using the exit button.
