What it does:
The bookmarking extension tracks the learners progress through the course as to provide them the ability to return to the section of the course where they left off previously.
How to enable it:
- Go to extensions
- Search for Bookmarking under available extensions
- Click the Add button
Configuring the Bookmarking extension:
There is a number of setting that can be configured within the extension itself which have been highlighted below.
To configure the extension:
- Go to extension
- Click settings
- Expand the Bookmarking extension
You have the ability to set at which level you wish the bookmarking extension returns the learner to within the course.
Level:
There are 3 options as to where the bookmarking extension can return the learner to within the course:
- Page - Returns the learner to top of the page within the course.
- Block - Returns the learner to the block level within the course.
- Component - Returns the learner to the component level with the course.
Location:
- Previous - Will return the learner to the last component/block/page that they had accessed within the course.
- Furthest - Will return the learner to the further component/block/page they had reached within the course.
Show prompt:
This option will control if the learner is given a prompt when returning to the course
- Enabled - If the prompt is enabled the learner will be provided a prompt as to ask if they wish to return to their previous place within the course. The learner will have the ability to dismiss this prompt to access the menu page.
- Disabled - If the prompt is disabled the learner will automatically be returned to their previously position within the course.
Prompt text:
The bookmarking extension would also provide you the ability to update the text within the prompt that is displayed to learners.
- Prompt Title: Allows for the title within the prompt to be updated.
- Prompt Message: Allows for the message text to be updated within the prompt.
Prompt Buttons:
- Yes: Allows for the confirmation button to be updated
- No: Allows for the cancel button to be updated
