Prerequisites: To do anything useful, it must be used alongside the badges or assisted learning extensions.
Summary: Add your learning objectives in extensions first and then add them to the settings of each component.
What it does
The Learning Objectives extension creates various objectives that can be assigned to each component to indicate which topic they cover. This can be used with the Badges extension to gamify your course, and the Assisted Learning extension can use the learning objectives to sign post which topics a learner may need to revise.
How to configure it
- Go to Extensions.
- Click Settings.
- Enable learning objectives.
- Click Add to add your learning objectives. Make a note of the code that you add for each one, as you’ll need this to link the objective to assessment questions and components.
Tip: If you’re using Windows, the clipboard history can be really useful here. Just press the Windows Key + V to bring up a list of all the items you’ve recently copied.
Now navigate to the components in the assessment and in the course that you would like to add objectives to. In the component settings, scroll down to the extensions section and add your learning objective code.
Once you've added all your learning objectives to your course, you'll want to add and configure your badges and/or assisted revision extensions.
