What it does:
The page footer extension gives the ability to add a footer to the course page that contains navigation buttons which gives the ability to navigated through the course pages/menu of the course with the need to return to the course menu.
How to enable:
- Go to extensions
- Search for - Page footer navigation
- Click the Add button
- Click on settings
- Toggle Is enabled
- Click Save
Configuring the Page Footer extension:
Use Icons Always:
The Page foot extension can be confirmed to show the buttons as text or icons, the default option for the extension will use text within the buttons but enabling the - Use Icons Always - toggle will replace the text with icons.
Updating the text within the buttons:
The extension provides the ability for the text that is displayed within buttons to be changed to your preferred wording:
- Next button text - text that will be displayed within the button that navigates to the next page within the course.
- Previous button text - text that will be displayed within the button that navigates to the previous page within the course.
- Home button text - text that will be displayed within the button that navigates to the menu within the course.
- Up button text - text that will be displayed within the button that navigates from the current section within the to the menu/previous section(Note this option only applies if sections are being used within the course).
Page footer navigation options:
The footer can be set to show only when the bottom of the course page has been reached or to always be visible from within the course page. Changing the drop down will determine how the footer functions throughout the course:
- scrollToBottom - The footer will only display once the bottom of the course page is within view.
- always - The footer will display at the bottom of the screen at all times.
Hiding footer navigation bottoms:
The footer extension has the ability to hide individual bottoms within the footer navigation. Enabling the toggle for the button you wish to hide will ensure that it no longer shows within the footer throughout the course:
