Configuring the Scroll Prompt extension:
The scroll prompt extension is a simplistic extension however there are some settings that can be configured that would allow for minor personalisation of the prompt. These settings have been outlined below:
- Scroll message Text - This will allow you to update the text that will appear on the prompt when it is displayed within the course page.
- Prompt offset - Controls the offset of the prompt as to allow for the prompt to be shown higher or lower within the course page when the page is accessed. This would allow for adjusting around text or graphics that have been added within the course page.
The default setting for the prompt offset is - 40 - from the top margin of the screen. This will place the prompt roughly in the middle of the screen for the user. However if the offset was set to - 70 - this would place the prompt lower on the visible screen when the course page is launched(see the screenshot below for an example of this at both 40 and 70):
- Prompt set to 40:
- Prompt set to 70:
- Is enabled on all pages - Controls if the scroll prompt should be enabled on all the pages within the course.
- Note: the prompt can be controlled on a page by page level and you do not need to have this enabled on every page. If you wish to control which pages the scroll prompt appears within you will first need to disable the above setting(Is enabled on all pages). Once this settings is disabled you will need to edit the course page go to extensions>expand the scroll prompt extension> enable the toggle > click save:
